ISO 18001

OHSAS 18001 is an assessment specification for Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

Since 1950, World Health Organization & International Labour Organization have defined the Occupational health & safety. In April 1999, the British Standard Institute released the specification that they called OHSAS 18001. This was developed in response to strong worldwide demand for a generalized, comprehensive outline for managing occupational health & safety issues Occupational health should aim at

  1. The promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical.
  2. Mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations.
  3. The prevention amongst workers of departures from health caused by their working conditions.
  4. The protection of workers in their employment from risks resulting from factors adverse to health.
  5. The placing and maintenance of the worker in an occupational environment adapted to his physiological and psychological capabilities.
  6. Ensuring the proper and effective management of worker health & safety.
  7. Demonstrating to regulatory bodies the seriousness of their commitment to these issues.
